Systems Administrator I
Office Location: Albany, New York
Work Schedule: This role has hybrid flexibility, allowing 1 remote day per week based on business needs.
Must be available, over the telephone and occasionally in person, outside of normal business hours to troubleshoot urgent computer issues. May be required to perform evening and weekend system maintenance and upgrades as needed.
Compensation Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually
We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator (Tier I) to work in our Information Systems department.
The Role:
You will provide front-line support to attorneys and staff, including hardware, software, and basic network troubleshooting in a team-oriented environment including:
Configuring, deploying, installing desktop computers, laptop computers, smartphone devices, printers, monitors, portable data storage devices, and other general peripherals.
Assisting with administering and maintaining end user accounts, passwords, security groups, and access rights in Windows domain/Active Directory under supervision.
Providing first- and second-level troubleshooting support, including handling end user issues related to hardware, Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, network connectivity, remote access, and legal-specific software programs.
Diagnosing routine hardware and software failures, communicate remediation plans to users, and provide timely status updates until resolution.
Skills Needed for Success:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required:
College degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and one to three years of industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
Strong application support experience with Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
Technical knowledge of PC hardware and operating systems and a working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, web/cloud applications, and Windows domain environments (including basic Active Directory tasks). Preference
Working knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and above and file/print serves is preferred.
Physical requirements include the ability to: lift and transport up to 35 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time, inspecting and installing cables in floors and ceilings and the manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and other computer components.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, or comparable entry-level Microsoft certifications preferred. Additional exposure to Windows Server, networking, or security certifications is a plus.
